The Food Bus is a lower cost, mobile greengrocers and community space. This unique double decker bus reaches areas experiencing food insecurity or inaccessibility to food.

At Be Enriched, we believe that affordable, nutritious food should be accessible to everyone, so we're bringing the shop to those who need it. Each week the Food Bus aims to offer groceries, cupboard items and more, at a lower cost price. It also has a cafe on the top deck, allowing people to buy a coffee and catch up with friends.

The bus complies with the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) guidance and uses solar panels to create energy.

The project has been funded by the Mayor of London and the London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP) through the Good Growth Fund, DWS, Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Sarah Dent, Wandsworth Council, L&Q and Mercers’ Charitable Foundation.

End of Year Update

The Food Bus will continue it's usual route (details below), with the last day of service being Thursday 21 December.

The Food Bus will restart, with a new route, on Monday 8 January 2024, as we use both the double decker and our new Food Float to increase access to low-cost fruit, vegetables and cupboard staples.

Follow us on our socials to find out more about the new stops.

Can you Bee the change this December?

This time of year, is even harder for so many of the people we support. As the weather gets colder, more of those who use the bus have to choose between putting food on the table and turning the heating on.

The Food Bus and Float help alleviate this concern, taking more affordable food to those who need help accessing it.

We're asking for donations to support our work - and anything you give gets doubled!

Introducing the Food Float

In November 2023, we took delivery of a new addition to our efforts to help people access low-cost food.

The Food Float is a specially converted electric vehicle that will compliment the Food Bus.

It's already been out offering more affordable fruit, vegetables and cupboard staples in Lambeth and Wandsworth, and we are looking forward to using it to extend our reach much further in 2024. Follow us on our socials to find out more about where the Food Float will be.

Food Bus Highly Commended, 27 April 2022

We were over the moon to see our work with the Food Bus highlighted at the national Social Value awards. Our specially converted double-decker was highly commended in the Social Innovation category.

Be Enriched Founder and CEO Kemi Akinola said: “We are delighted that The Food Bus was recognised in this way. It has been a labour of love to get to this point. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this important work, especially the team on board the bus. They work hard each and every week to bring low cost, healthy food and essentials to those who need them in Lambeth and Wandsworth. This commendation demonstrates the positive impact we are having, especially at a challenging time, and we look forward to taking this further in the future. Everyone is welcome on board the Food Bus. When you shop with us, you can feel confident that you are also supporting the local community. If there is anyone who would like to get further involved in this work, including sponsoring the bus, please do get in touch.”
