What does Be Enriched do over the Winter months?
Winter is our hardest, busiest time of year. As temperatures drop, more people come through our doors cold, hungry, and isolated. But while demand surges, our funding doesn’t.
This winter, we’ll serve thousands of hot, nutritious meals at our Community Canteens, deliver affordable food to over 1,200 people on our Food Bus and Float, and run school holiday clubs so children don’t go hungry when free school meals stop.
We'll also provide fuel vouchers, warm spaces, and most importantly, provide care and connection to our neighbours.
For many, it’s the only place they’ll eat with others all week.

Across our communities, people are being forced to choose between turning on the heating and eating. At Be Enriched, we’re doing everything we can to make sure our people won’t have to face this winter alone.
We’ll be providing safe, warm spaces where people can share a meal, access affordable food, and ensure children have nutritious food to eat during the school holidays.Winter is a time of severe hardship but also severe waste.
The UK throws away more than 9.5 million tonnes of food every year, even as millions of people struggle to afford enough to eat. Last year alone, Be Enriched rescued 4.2 tonnes of good food that would otherwise have gone to landfill, redirecting it into thousands of healthy meals for our Community Canteens and Food Bus customers.
